Walking for justice: London Legal Walk 2013

The 9th London Legal Walk is a 10km “after work” walk. Led by the Lord Chief Justice and an array of legal luminaries, 6,000 walkers raised £540,000 last year. The 2013 Walk is set to be a record breaker, with the number of teams now past the highest ever reached before (416) and the number of walkers having smashed through the previous 6,100!

A group of us from Miles & Partners are doing the London Legal walk next Monday evening 20th May to raise funds for the London Legal Support Trust which funds Law Centres and pro bono agencies in and around London. We know that these agencies do a fantastic job in preventing homelessness, resolving debt problems, gaining care for the elderly and disabled and fighting exploitation. We also know how short they are of the funds to continue that work.

This year we are particularly supporting Tower Hamlets Law Centre. Half of all the funds we raise will be donated by LLST to the Law Centre. The Law Centre has been extremely hard hit by cuts in both council funding and legal aid.
