Safeguarding six children from eviction

After accumulating rent arrears of £7,000, a mother of six children faced eviction from her rented property when possession proceedings were commenced in June 2019.

Rajea Sultana succeeded in obtaining a suspension to the eviction warrant, covering all the hearings, and carrying out the advocacy too.

Our client also had severe physical and mental health problems, which combined with the caring for six children provided a few challenges.

We supported her through the process, liaising with the benefits team at the council.  She was able to to pay off almost all of the rental arrears, and the parties agreed an order whereby the eviction order was suspended.
