Expertise and experience
Tom is a qualified solicitor, and gained experience in family law, mental health and mental capacity during the course of his training.
Tom assists Kate Hammond as well as conducting cases, advising and representing clients at court in certain matters.
Before joining us, Tom spent some time in the United States, where he volunteered as an intern at the Public Defender’s Office in Oklahoma City, assisting with the investigation of cases where defendants were facing the death penalty. On his return to the UK, Tom completed his Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School and then went on to become a Childcare law paralegal, allowing him to build considerable experience in this area. Tom is passionate about family law and ensuring access to justice for people who find themselves requiring a lawyer at one of the most difficult times of their lives.
Some recent experience of Tom’s includes:
- advising and assisting people in relation to care proceedings and arrangements for children; and
- representing clients in court in relation to arrangements for children.
