Expertise and experience
Kate is one of our trainee solicitors and she will be gaining experience in housing law, mental health and mental capacity, and family law during her training contract.
Prior to joining Miles & Partners, Kate worked as a policy adviser for the Department of Levelling Up, Housing, and Communities. She also worked for Citizen’s Advice, advising residents of Harrow, primarily on debt, housing, and benefits.
Kate assists the other solicitors as well as conducting her own cases, advising and representing clients at court in certain matters, including eviction.
She has a particular interest in housing and public law, including eviction, homelessness challenges, and the housing options available to victims of domestic abuse.
Kate also has experience volunteering on benefit appeals, and providing support to litigants in person in court, including in the High Court. She applies this knowledge to her work on complex housing cases.
Kate is a member of the executive committee of HLPA (Housing Law Practitioners’ Association).
