Gemma is a partner and an experienced family law solicitor, specialising in children law.
She represents children, parents and other family members in local authority care proceedings including complex issues such as domestic abuse, people with disabilities and concerns about radicalisation.
The types of cases that Gemma has been involved in include:
- representation of children with special needs in Court of Protection and deprivation of liberty applications to determine their interim and long-term care arrangements;
- representing parents in care proceedings where there are allegations of non-accidental injuries against the children, domestic abuse and drug/alcohol issues;
- representing children through their guardian in care proceedings where there are suspicions of terrorist links and concerns that the child could be under threat of radicalisation; and
- representing children and family members in placement hearings where the option to put a child into adoption is under consideration.
