Expertise and experience
Fiona is a partner and a specialist children’s lawyer and advocate, which means that she can represent her clients in the family court.
She mainly represents parents, family members and children of all ages in care proceedings. Fiona also has considerable experience in family disputes over children after divorce or separation.
The types of cases that Fiona has been involved in include:
- representing anyone involved in care proceedings, such as parents, foster parents, children and other relatives;
- representing older children where their views differ from those of their guardian or their parents, to ensure that they are comfortable with the contact and residence arrangements that are proposed;
- advocating the views of children involved in family disputes, particularly where they are being denied the opportunity to have an ongoing relationship with one parent (parental alienation);
- working on behalf of children in international care proceedings, to ensure that the views of the child or parents are heard and that proceedings can be kept in the UK.
Fiona has been recognised as a ‘recommended lawyer’ by the Legal 500.
