Floyd Porter appointed partner at Miles & Partners
We are pleased to announce that Floyd Partner, Head of the Mental Health and Mental Capacity Team has been appointed to the partnership team at Miles and Partners.

Floyd is member of the Law Society’s Mental Health Review Tribunal Panel, Mental Health Lawyers Association Committee Member and Coordinator of the Mental Health Lawyers Association Court of Protection Sub-Committee
Floyd’s practice is now mainly focused on matters before the Court of Protection, with an emphasis on representing relatives in Court of Protection proceedings.
He also has extensive experience of representing patients, often those detained under the Mental Health Act in high and medium security conditions, before the Mental Health Tribunal. He has used his early career experience preparing criminal defence cases to inform his expertise in forensic mental health cases.
Floyd has been successful in challenging unlawful detentions and is committed to helping vulnerable individuals with mental disorders. He is also emerging as a key player in the increasingly important field of Mental Capacity.
