Congratulations to a quartet of new partners
We are delighted to announce that four members of our family law and housing teams have been appointed as partners in recognition of their continued outstanding service to the firm and our clients, effective from 1 January 2021.
As experts in their respective fields, Fiona McKiernan, Gemma Hodder, Lorraine Green and Lou Crisfield provide their clients in London and surrounding areas with exceptional legal service.
Fiona McKiernan is a specialist children’s lawyer and advocate, representing parents, family members and children of all ages in care proceedings. She is skilled in advocating the views of children involved in family disputes, particularly where they are being denied the opportunity to have an ongoing relationship with one parent.
Gemma Hodder is an experienced family law solicitor, specialising in children’s law and representing children, parents and other family members in local authority care proceedings. She is recognised in the 2020 Legal 500 as a ‘highly regarded solicitor who combines extensive experience in complex cases with a tenacity and a pleasing courtroom manner’.
Lorraine Green is a senior family law solicitor and is also recognised as a specialist in the law relating to children. She has been involved in a wide range of cases acting for parents, grandparents, guardians and children. Recently she gave evidence to the APPG Westminster Commission on the Sustainability of Legal Aid as an expert witness.
Lou Crisfield is an experienced housing caseworker, specialising in social welfare, housing law, public law and community care law. She represents adults and families who are homeless, facing eviction or in a dispute with their landlord. She also represents vulnerable adults and children in respect of their rights to community care services. Lou was ranked in Chambers UK 2021 for social housing and awarded Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year in 2016.
‘We are delighted to welcome Fiona, Gemma, Lorraine and Lou to the partnership,’ says Kate Hammond, managing partner of Miles & Partners, ‘They will continue to help us deliver outstanding levels of service and achieve positive outcomes for our clients.’
