Expertise and experience

Sashina is one of our trainee solicitors, and her first seat will be in family law. Sashina assists the other solicitors advising and representing clients at court in certain matters, as well as having her own caseload.

Sashina has extensive experience in care proceedings and private law children proceedings, from newborn babies to teenagers. She has assisted on a variety of cases representing the Guardian and the parents concerning domestic violence, drug and alcohol misuse, mental health, non-accidental injury, deprivation of liberty and sexual abuse issues. She has also assisted on cases concerning disputes between the parents in relation to child arrangements order, prohibited steps order and specific issues order.  Sashina also represents parents who have social services involvement at pre-proceedings (public law outline) level.

Prior to joining Miles & Partners, Sashina gained various experience in city law firms, which included immigration law, property law, family law and commercial law. Sashina has also volunteered in the pro bono legal services team at the BPP Enterprise clinic, a service that provides free advice to landlords and tenants with commercial property disputes. Sashina has a particular interest in family law, including divorce law, financial settlements, arrangements for children and childcare law.

During her time at University, Sashina won the international criminal and human rights law essay writing competition. Sashina also received a career commitment scholarship to study the Legal Practice Course.
