Congratulations to Mary Richardson on winning the ‘Outstanding Newcomer’ Award 2019 by the Association of Lawyers for Children
We are delighted that one of our hardworking and talented family law solicitors Mary Richardson has been awarded the Outstanding Newcomer Award 2019 by the Association of Lawyers for Children.
Mary has worked at Miles & Partners since 2014, starting her career as an outdoor clerk. She secured a training contract with us in September 2016 and demonstrated her passion and capability by quickly embracing a caseload that would normally be far beyond someone at her level of qualification.
Mary qualified as a solicitor in September 2018 and has since remained with the firm in our family department practising in public and private children law matters. She has developed a specialism and reputation for complex non-accidental injury cases and for matters with a medical component. An incredibly intelligent and diligent lawyer, she explores every avenue and fights hard for the rights of her clients who are often acutely vulnerable.
Always going above and beyond client expectations, Mary consistently gets fantastic feedback from clients, counsel, QC’s and other solicitors and she received many glowing nominations for the award. Below is just a flavour of the overwhelming praise which she received from her peers as part of the nomination process:
‘Mary is an extraordinarily capable and amazing lawyer.’
‘Her knowledge of the facts and law is impressive. She is incredibly well prepared, and it is always a pleasure to be in a case with her. Her client care is exemplary, and she gives her client such confidence that the whole process is made much easier for them.’
‘Mary manages to balance being incredibly professional with being incredibly personable and it is this that helps her to work with her clients so well.’
‘She is a dynamic and inspirational lawyer. She commits to her cases going above and beyond her duty to her clients.’
‘Mary is absolutely deserving of this accolade and I support her wholeheartedly.’
‘It is hard to believe that Mary only qualified as a solicitor a year ago because her aptitude to understand complex legal issues is more akin to a lawyer with many years of experience.’
